Northern New York Eco-Tours
(East and West)

We are once again conducting personalized Eco-tours in Northern New York for 2008 and beyond. We can accompany you on many of the nature trails listed in our trail guides or we can develop specialized nature tours for you or your group. Our experienced tour guides can point out interesting flora, fauna and give you stories about the history of the area you choose to explore with us. Call or e-mail us for suggestions and costs. Our phone is 386-956-6089 or e-mail us at Roger@RogerFulton.com.

Centennial Walking Tour of the City of Glens Falls, NY

Glens_Falls_Poster_jpeg.jpgTo celebrate their 100th anniversary, we have developed a 90 minute, walking eco-tour of the City of Glens Falls. An experienced tour guide will lead the trip and cover the history and heritage of the downtown area of the city, as well as the modern updates to the city, including Barton Mine’s “green” building. We’ll cover famous people from Glens Falls, as well as interesting stories about the people and places you will visit.

The tour is available for ages 12 and older. After dinner tours are our specialty so you can walk off those extra calories. And it’s much cooler then in July and August.  The tours cover about 1 mile over 90 minutes. Shorter options are available.

Tour Rates: Flat group fee of $75.00 for 1-5 people; flat group fee of $120.00 for 6 to 20 people. There is a maximum of 20 people per group. Payable in advance via check or money order.

(Group rain dates: For groups staying at the Queensbury Hotel, we have a special Powerpoint “virtual tour” of the same walking tour. You can stay dry and still learn about this great small city known as “Hometown, U.S.A., in the comfort of a hotel meeting room.)

A Biking Eco-tour:
Glens Falls to Lake George, and return – a total of about 15 miles on paved roadways and trails.

Follow a paved rails-to-trails railroad route most of the way from Glens Falls to beautiful Lake George; about 7 miles one way. Enjoy the scenery, the wildflowers and the babbling brook as you ride along a very nice paved trail. Upon arriving at Lake George you will be greeted with beautiful views of the lake, as well as treated to a guided tour of the Lake George Battlefield and its monuments. Take time to enjoy a snack and rest before returning to Glens Falls along the same route.

There will be frequent stops in both directions to learn about the history and ecology of the area. Allow 3-4 hours for the tour depending on the speed of your group. The tour is open to ages 12 and above. All group members should be in reasonable physical condition since there are some moderate hills involved in this trek. (We won’t tell anyone if you walk a couple of them.) Shorter versions of this trek are available at the same rates. Bring a good bike, plenty of water and raingear if necessary. Liability waivers will need to be signed just prior to the start of the trip.

Flat rate: 1-5 people: $75.00; Flat Rate: 6-20 people: $120.00. Reservations and advance payment are required by check or money order.
